From the moment I walked it, feeling anxious and apprehensive, I was immediately greeted by a friendly and warm hearted receptionist who dispelled my original emotions and turned them into ones of relaxation. Upon seeing the young and professional dentist who made me feel comfortable and informed, I knew that I had made the right decision to come to this practice. By the end of my treatment my pain had gone and my smile restored. All thanks to the staff of Clifton Moore Dental Centre. I will be coming back here for sure!
Dentures are removable prosthetic or false teeth that replace complete rows of missing upper or lower teeth. Worn during the day and removed at night, they are held in place with denture adhesive. Our highly skilled dental team provides patients at Clifton Moor Dental Centre with custom-made dentures that firmly and comfortably cover your gums, looking and feeling like natural teeth.

Long-lasting solution to missing teeth
When you wear a denture for the first time it may take some getting used to when speaking or eating and chewing. This feeling shouldn’t last for long though, and you will be able to enjoy your favourite food and drinks, and smile, in comfort.
It is important that you take extra care when conducting your hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. Our dental hygienist here at Clifton Moor Dental Centre will be able to show you how to best take care of your dentures and gums and will tell you about specialised brushes you can use to do this.
Depending on your requirements, dentures can take several appointments to complete. In the case of implant-supported dentures, you will need to allow several months for the implant to fuse with the jawbone before your new denture can be worn.
After your initial consultation and dental examination here in York, your dentist will advise you on the most appropriate treatment option, that may include dentures. Depending on your individual needs, there are three main types of cosmetic denture.
When you need to replace an entire row of upper or lower teeth, full or complete dentures are often used. Full dentures are removable and worn during the day, secured in place with a dental adhesive.
Where several teeth are missing from your mouth, a partial denture is often used as a removable replacement. Partial dentures are secured in place with clasps which are attached to healthy teeth.
Your denture will be made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give you a natural-looking smile. Your dentist will take impressions of your mouth, which are then used to make your denture in the dental laboratory, so that they fit snugly and comfortably on your gums.
When your jawbones are strong and healthy, an implant-supported denture is a very effective and convenient treatment. Dental implants are secured to the jawbone, supporting a removable denture. You can expect optimal eating comfort and everyday convenience. At Clifton Moor Dental Centre we are pleased to offer the All on 4 treatment, which can see you leaving our practice with a new full smile in just one day.
