I had a recent tooth trauma to a visibly obvious tooth. I called the surgery and very luckily I managed to get a cancellation so was seen immediately by the amazing Nicola Perry. My tooth was replaced quickly and efficiently and the replacement is so much better than what I had before. The whole team at CM Dental Centre are incredibly efficient and friendly. The reception team are some of the friendliest I have come across  nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about composite bonding in York

How long does composite bonding last?

On average, composite bonding lasts between three and eight years, depending on how well you look after your teeth.

Following your treatment, we recommend seeing a dental hygienist regularly to ensure your gums stay healthy and attending our Clifton Moor practice for regular check-ups to make sure your smile stays in good shape.

My teeth are crooked, can I still have composite bonding?

This depends on the level of crowding of your teeth. If the crowding is very minor your dentist may be able to ‘camouflage’ the teeth with composite bonding without the need for prior teeth straightening. During your consultation your dentist will discuss the best treatment plan for you based on your treatment goals and expectations.

How long does composite bonding take?

Composite bonding takes as little as 30 minutes to an hour to complete. The process is straightforward and pain-free, so no anaesthetic is required. The procedure will be carried out in our welcoming surgery in York, where you’ll be made to feel completely at ease.

Should I have my teeth whitened first or after treatment?

Completing a course of teeth whitening before starting on your bonding journey will enable your dentist to match the level of whiteness with the composite material.

How does composite bonding work?

Composite bonding is a white filling material that is applied over the surface of the tooth to change the colour, size and shape. No tooth structure is shaved down or prepared with composite bonding, which means it can be completely reversed in the future if you decide you want to return to your natural teeth.

Dental bonding preserves more of the natural structure of your tooth than other treatments, with visually similar results. In most cases no drilling, injections or sedation is required at all. As such, the treatment doesn’t require any complicated treatment plans or multiple appointments - you can walk out of our York practice with your dazzling new smile in no time.

At Clifton Moor Dental Centre we use state-of-the-art high aesthetic composite to help cover up any damage on your tooth or teeth. We also use the best materials to make sure the bonding is long-lasting.
